Teacher Parade

Good morning room 5 and 6!

Next Wednesday May 13 at around 6:00pm, teachers and support staff from schools in the Taradale community are getting together to drive in a parade/caravan through Taradale.

Teachers and staff will be in their vehicles driving by, waving, and honking our horns to say hello! We want to let you know how much we miss you and care about you!

A map with the route will be sent out next week via School Messenger.

If your house is on the parade route:
Wave and shout from your window; or
Go to your front yard or sidewalk, and wave and shout (remember to maintain social distancing).

If your house is not on the parade route:
Walk to the parade route, and wave and shout (remember to maintain social distancing); or
Drive your car and park along the parade route, stay in your car and wave and shout.

There will be four separate groups of cars, but not all at once. Remember to be safe and observe social distancing. Please do not go onto the road!

As teachers and support staff in the Taradale community, we're all very excited about this. We hope to see you there!

Links to online learning websites

Hi everyone, Below is a list of websites families can use at home for extra practice on core subject areas. Please have a look and see which websites work best for you. Until the CBE determines how we will proceed, it is important for students to be reading, writing, and practicing basic math skills. Try to spend some time each day working on each three. Please keep checking the blog and email. As soon as there is more information for families, the CBE and/or Taradale School will let families know. I will follow up with blog posts passing along any pertinent information. Please stay safe, everyone. Home Reading Questions

Dear students and families, Many of you have asked for questions to ask students when they read books at home. Thinking about such questions helps students better understand the books they read. Here are some examples:

Veteran's Food Bank and Remembrance Day

Our Remembrance Day ceremony is on Friday November 8. We will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items for the Veteran's Food Bank. This is a great way to honour those who fought for us, and support people in our city who are in need. Here are some examples of non-perishable food items:
